		Mauzac 2002 Cuvée Sainte-Hilaire Ref: WW20001 Vin de Pays D’Oc Using the same Mauzac grape that is more usual in sparkling Blanquette de Limoux this is a stunning example of the very best in Vin de Pays from a vineyard situated between Carcassonne and Limoux. Dry but never acidic and with hints of apple and vanilla, Mauzac makes a wonderful aperitif but excels with fish and white meat dishes. Highly recommended for price and quality. 		Picpoul de Pinet 2002 Ref: WW20006 Château de Pinet, AOC Picpoul de Pinet Here is an unusual grape variety from a tiny appellation between Béziers and Sète that is very much a wine of the moment. Jane McQuitty in The Times describes this cépage as one of her favourites: "... the rare Picpoul grape delivers oodles of seafood-friendly lime and grapefruit-zest spice, underpinned with sufficient fat, yet verdant fruit for balance." We forced ourselves off the beach during August to visit this 18th century family château run by the matronly Madame Arnaud-Gaujal and were rewarded with this fine example that is simply superb with fish. Acknowledged by Guide Hachette, it is a fresh, dry white wine with subtle lemony overtones and elegance. £7.85
